Curriculum
I follow the EYFS and apply a Montessori approach to learning as much as possible. I believe in children being ‘explorers’ and through facilitating activities which stimulate and inspire, which allows the child to become a leader in their own learning.
Weekly activities include visits to our local parks, within walking distance from my home, visits to playgroups, sensory home cooking, investigative play, construction and early literacy through books, puppets and visits to our local library for action and rhyme sessions.
I regularly use my care to visit local attractions and events linking to our weekly theme.
My Setting
Full and part time care offered all year around, from 3 months upwards. Before school drop offs and after school collections to Hoo Primary School.
I am able to accept 2 year and 3 year Government funding.
We have no pets (except for two small goldfish!)
Genuine, caring home from home environment for your children, with a large garden, plenty of toys, activities and outings for all ages.
About Us
I’m a mama of two young children, one of whom is just starting his Nursery adventures!
I had my first Ofsted visit in October 2022 and am fully registered with Ofsted.
I have been a Special needs teacher (for children with complex medical & profound disabilities) for 17 years. I am trained in Makaton and On-Body signs and have very good pre-verbal communication skills. I have extensive experience in epilepsy and gastrostomy feeding. I am also a trained practitioner in TACPAC massage, which is suitable for SEN and young children (under 2yrs)
I am trained in Paediatric First Aid, and both I and my husband are fully DBS checked.
For now, I have stepped away from education to enjoy being home with my youngest child and to offer some of my experience with children to others. I know the importance of play and nurture during the early years, and my ethos is that all children can reach their full potential, given the right support, love and care.

Working together
All parents want to feel involved and able to communicate and participate to their child’s learning. For me, i feel communication is essential in order for the child to grow and develop effectively. I use a range of media to keep you fully informed about how your child is progressing, updated policies and weekly themes. You will also receive a daily overview for your child as part of their electronic learning journey. I value hearing from you about your child’s current interest, activities from home and family events/ celebrations.
Activities
Local visits
Visits will be targets around our weekly themes as well as daily outdoor sessions at local parks or to the library.
Sensory exploration
Children learn through their senses- all of them! Exploring through sensory cooking, messy play, painting, cornflour etc will be encouraged and part of our weekly activities.
Gross & Fine motor skills
At home i have several accessible gross motor activities such as a Pikler triangle for climbing, a balance beam, tyres etc. mark making, threading, posting, grasping and tracking skills are also encouraged through a wide range of Montessori type toys.
Critical Thinking
As children mature critical thinking, problem solving, being able to express themselves confidently and empathy are essential skills to develop as they head towards their school age years.
